Each person has all three doshas within them, but one or two doshas usually predominate in your Prakruti. Your Prakruti, then, is determined by the dominant dosha or doshas you were born with. How to Determine Your Prakruti and Vikruti

To understand your Prakruti and Vikruti, start by tuning in to your body and mind.
1. Discover Your Prakruti (Your Birth Constitution):
• Think back to childhood—what qualities have been with you for as long as you can remember?
• What are your natural strengths and tendencies?
• Take an Ayurvedic assessment or work with a practitioner to get a personalized understanding.
2. Assess Your Vikruti (Your Current Imbalances):
• How do you feel right now? Energized, tired, anxious, inflamed?

For example:
• A naturally airy, creative Vata type experiencing Vata imbalance (anxiety, insomnia) may need grounding foods and routines to restore balance.
• A fiery Pitta type with excess Pitta (irritability, inflammation) may need cooling practices and foods to calm the fire.
• A nurturing Kapha type with excess Kapha (sluggishness, heaviness) may need movement and stimulation to regain energy.

Take a moment to check in: Who are you at your core? And who are you right now? This awareness is your greatest tool for healing. When you listen deeply to what your body and mind are telling you, you can respond with love rather than resistance.
